Golf Season came to a close yesterday. The boys finished 10th in the State Tournament. Graham Banhart shot a season best 90. Trey Smith finished with a 100, and
Rhett Walker shot a 115. After placing 2nd in the District Tournament, we made state as a team for the first time since we have started golf back up.
The girls finished up last week by finishing 8th at the state tournament. Presley Sprick shot a 114 to finish with the 10th lowest score. Abigail Turner shot a 128, and Hayli Lyon shot a 132. The girls won the District Tournament this year at Glenwood.
This was a really fun group to coach. The boys worked really hard to make the state tournament. It was fun watching them compete. Trey Smith was the only senior on the golf team. He had another great year for us. I’m looking forward to the 8th graders moving up and seeing the progress we make. The girls started the year with two players. I had to “recruit” a few players for us to have a full team. Abigail and Hayli had never played golf other than Topgolf and back yard chipping. I was very proud of the way all the girls spent time improving. This will be a fun group for the next few years.
