Chemistry

Mrs. Frady's Chemistry Class recently finished a study of isotopes.  Isotopes are atoms of the same element with different atomic weights.  This is due to a different amount of neutrons.  The students were given a sample of a new element, Beanium, that consisted of three isotopes (pinto, white, and black).  They used the same process used by scientists to find the abundance of each isotope in nature.  This abundance (percentage) is used to find the average atomic mass.  This process is the same process used to calculate weighted average in class and GPAs.
